This training is being put on and hosted by Kākou for Keiki (K4K), a hui of providers and parent champions based on Maui. K4K is dedicated to creating an accessible, inclusive and cohesive early childhood system that promotes healthy development and social emotional growth for all keiki ages birth to five. K4K supports developmental screening, caregiver stability and trauma informed approaches to build resiliency in families. Fiscal support is being provided by Maui Hui Mālama.

Virtual training event by the Racial Equity Institute: The Groundwater Approach

Introduction to racial equity by two experienced and skilled facilitators from the Racial Equity Institute. The presentation utilizes a "groundwater" metaphor to understand the problem and potential solutions. The intention of this training is to facilitate a learning space that provides a common way to further understand, language and therefore better address the inequity in our systems.

The training will be on Zoom from 9 am- 12 noon on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. These tickets also include a follow up debrief session with a panel of local practitioners on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 9 -11 am on Zoom.
